Sedation Dentistry Options

Nitrous Oxide

Commonly known as laughing gas, this allows a child to relax and remain calm during dental treatment. It is very safe and effective. Nitrous oxide is quick acting, remains in the body for a short time, and wears off completely within minutes after using it.

Oral Conscious Sedation

For children that need additional help to remain calm and relaxed, this often helps. Kids drink medicine that puts them into a heightened state of relaxation. Following treatment, children are to be monitored closely at home for the remainder of the day. Dr. Brett, Dr. Grady, and Dr. Alex have extensive training with oral conscious sedation, and is one of the many things that sets him apart.

General Anesthesia

For children that cannot be safely treated in our office, treatment under general anesthesia at a local hospital may be necessary. It’s a team approach – our doctors and their staff provide the dental care while an anesthesiologist provides the anesthesia.

In-Office Sedation

While general anesthesia might take place at a local hospital, all of our other sedation dentistry options can be done right here in our office for your convenience. Our dentists will carefully monitor your child throughout their dental procedure to make sure that your child remains safe and relaxed. If you have any questions during the sedation process, we’re always happy to help.
